Let’s take a look at some of Calgary’s numbers in the real estate market for the month of June.
Home Prices
For the month of June, the benchmark sales price was $543,000. While there was just a slight 0.5% increase in month-over-month prices, June had a substantial increase of 13.3% from 2021 to 2022.
What is a benchmark price? The benchmark price is the estimated value of a “typical” home in a community, based on the most popular combination of features, e.g. age, size, number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
Sales and Inventory
June 2022 had 2,842 real estate sales, which is approximately 2.5% less than last year. The inventory for the month sits at 5,405, which is about 21.9% less than June of 2021.
Conclusion
Although the market softened out in Calgary for the month of June, there were still some notable increases in home prices.
