Townhomes are an excellent option if you are looking for something with a smaller footprint while still giving you that “house” feel. The smaller essence of a townhouse means less overall maintenance on your end. The multi-floor concept is excellent for separating rooms and living spaces, helping the home feel more spacious. These kinds of properties are popular amongst first-time homebuyers and small families. They generally offer everything a detached house offers, but for less money. Most of the time, you will have a bit of yard or shared space, maybe even a garage and, as we mentioned earlier, more than one floor. There are lots of townhomes in Edmonton that suit plenty of different needs! Usually, they are built in neighbourhood developments and have multiple floors, parking spaces for residents and visitors, and shared walls with another home(s).

Townhomes are typically condominiums, and as such, are subject to bylaws. Typically these rules are for maintaining some form of collectivity regarding the property’s exterior – you will pay into the condo monthly or yearly, depending on the property you choose. While it might seem like a drag to pay a monthly or yearly fee, the bonus is that this normally means you don’t need to worry about external maintenance. They will ensure your property is cared for depending on the season. A townhome is an excellent kind of home to consider if you are a busy family. You can save time by not worrying about shovelling or lawn mowing.
