The May 2022 market stats in Calgary are in – let’s take a quick look at some of the numbers for the month.
The benchmark selling price for May was $546,000. Although there was a minor 3.8% increase in month-over-month prices, May saw a considerate increase of 14.5% from 2021 to 2022.
What is a benchmark price? The benchmark price is the estimated value of a “typical” home in a community, based on the most popular combination of features, e.g. age, size, number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
Sales and Inventory
May 2022 had 5,200 real estate sales, which is approximately 23.4% less than 2021. The inventory for the month sits at 3,071, roughly 3.0% more than last year.
The market in May had, overall, notable increases in home prices, inventory, and sales.
