Fall is in the air and the market stats for Calgary are here too! Here are a look at some of the stats for the month of September.
Home Prices
The benchmark sales price in September was $527,000. There was a minimal 0.7% decrease in month-over-month home prices, but September 2022 saw a significant increase of 10.7% from 2021.
What is a benchmark price? The benchmark price is the estimated value of a “typical” home in a community, based on the most popular combination of features, e.g. age, size, number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
Sales and Inventory
September sales sit at 1,901, and the year-over-year decline clocks in at 11.9%. The inventory for the month was approximately 4,453, which is around 20.8% less than September of 2022.
Conclusion
Calgary’s housing market settled down for the month of September, with the exception of year-over-year home prices, which was the only percentage increase.
